This week I continued to draw. I also had the opportunity to talk with both David Chung and Endi Poskovic, which was extremely helpful. Both sets up conversations really made me think about composition and content for my drawings.
For next week I want to continue drawing keeping the comments they made in mind.
2 new drawings (both not entirely finished) and 1 redo of a previous drawing (I changed some of the left and am also not sure if it needs more work.)
Drawing ~ 14 hours

Lauren,
ReplyDeleteYou're making good progress and I'm excited about the drawings. Now that you've carved out your path and know what your series is, you can determine a standard margin around your drawings. If you matt and frame then you won't have to worry about this, but it might be a good idea to do it anyway. I know that you're getting some different kinds of feedback, so just make sure to take it all in and see what feels right to you. Your subject-matter is about enchantment and mystery; at this point, that is starting to come through in the drawing itself which is wonderful. This is why I think the drawings are most interesting when the mystery of the black and white - of the drawing itself-communicates enchantment. When I'm not as aware of the figures, I am in the space myself taking part in the mystery and complexity.
